UW has been cited over twenty times for violations of the Animal Welfare Act in the past year and a half, and its consistent noncompliance with even the bare minimum of standards imposed by the AWA has been a source of criticism, both from within the university and without.
From within the university, Dr. Richard "Jim" Brown has raised concerns about the welfare of the animals in the school's labs. Brown was a senior program veterinarian at the university's Research Animal Resource Center, where he says he was bullied and retaliated against for raising such concerns.
Brown quit earlier this month after over five years on the job, and called his resignation a "coercive termination," saying he made many enemies at the RARC for constantly raising concerns about animals in their facilities that weren't being properly cared for.
Dr. Brown isn't an animal rights activist, but can see that the university is pulling in enormous amounts of money and isn't using the funding to fulfill the promise made to the public that the animals used for experimentation are "well-cared for." The University of Wisconsin receives over one billion dollars annually for research.
The problem here is obvious: that even in the most prestigious and well-funded research facilities in the developed world, the animals are denied proper medical care, and their needs for food and water are neglected, all while being subjected to what which would be called torture if it were done to a human. And if anyone tries to raise an alarm about it, they are told - as Jim Brown was - that "silence was a condition of continued employment."
Animal testing is more than just a scientific farce and inhuman torture, it's also big business. A billion dollars a year in research funds means a lot of people have a vested interest in seeing the continuation of vivisection at UW, no matter the cost in animal life. Just like every other industry that exploits, tortures, and murders animals, the bottom line is the only concern.
Jim Brown contacted me in regard to this story, and he referred to animal testing as "expensive, time-consuming, misleading and addictive," and said that the lure of research funds will keep animal testing going until the government mandates non-animal research in laboratories.
The solution to these problems isn't complicated, but it is daunting. We have to end all animal testing forever.
More regulation or stricter consequences will not solve the problem. If these facilities cannot meet the laughably minimum standards in place now, it is obviously a sign of a broader and more serious problem: that animals can never be treated with respect and compassion as long as they are viewed as the inanimate property of humans to be used for whatever frivolous purpose we see fit.
To end the greed, the bullying, the scientific regression, and the torture and murder of innocent animals, there is no other way but to end vivisection altogether.

About 32,000 people attended the convention in San Diego. Protestors numbered around 30.
Among the protestors was a neuroscientist named Dr. Lawrence Hansen of UCSD. He stood outside of the convention center in his lab coat holding a sign showing a monkey with a probe attached to its brain.
Dr. Hansen is among a growing number of professionals in the medical and scientific fields with serious misgivings about the legitimacy of vivisection. A recent survey showed that 82% of European physicians worry that information from animal tests may not be applicable to humans.
Many, however, don't see the whole picture. Many scientists may have misgivings, but they see the situation as a kind of balance between risk and reward, between the harm they do and the potential benefits for humanity they might achieve. Dr. Hansen wrote an article in the Chronicle of Higher Education about vivisection wherein he condemns some animal tests, but says others aren't so bad.
The truth is that vivisection isn't a discussion about what is best for humans, and taking an ends-justifies-the-means approach to medical research leads us down a slippery slope. I can make myself richer by robbing another person, but that doesn't make it acceptable.
No more acceptable is the process of torturing animals in the hopes that eventually, if we kill enough of them, under the right circumstances, with the right tools, we will eventually learn something that might be relevant to animal medicine, which more often than not, doesn't even correspond to human physiology.
It isn't a matter of how much we have to gain, it's a matter of right and wrong. We can no longer guide our scientific and medical policy solely on self-interest. The safeguards to secure animal welfare in laboratories are irrelevant. As long as we think that an animal's life is expendable if it might possibly benefit us in the long term, we will be capable of greater and greater cruelty.
Scientists like Lawrence Hansen have already seen the scientific shortcomings of vivisection. What is needed however, is for the medical community to become moral vanguards by rejecting all animal testing unconditionally.
By refusing to torture animals we can not only augment the development of alternative methods of testing, which will prove to be more accurate in relation to human physiology because they don't rely on biological information from non-humans, but we can begin to break away from the paradigm of self-interest and cruelty in our culture.

University of Wisconsin To Hold Animal Testing Forums

Ostensibly the purpose of the forums is to open dialogue, inform the public, and ease tensions between groups on campus who have opposing viewpoints on the issue. The subject of animal testing on the UMW campus has been a source of contention.
It seems unlikely that scientists who make their living torturing animals truly want the public to know exactly what happens in their laboratories. The picture the scientists paint in the forums will likely be the same rose-tinted picture we always receive from vivisectors: animals who are well-cared for, lovingly tended, and gently probed for the cure for cancer.
One can only hope the opposing views expressed in the forum will shed more light on the true nature of animal testing, the torture, the scientific farce, the misery, and the death.
It's likely these forums are in response to the fact that the animal research facility at UMW has been cited over twenty times in the past year for violating the Animal Welfare Act. These forums are undoubtedly a part of some kind of PR "damage control" strategy, a chance for these scientists to try and shape the public opinion on the issue.
The facility at UMW has been cited for expired medications, cockroach infested holding rooms, dirty operating rooms, vomiting animals, dirty air vents, animals who were struggling to breath, and not cleaning up after animals, thus leaving their rooms smelling of urine.
One of the most telling violations was that in many studies there was no documentation scientists even looked for, or considered, alternatives to a test that could be painful for an animal.
Even people who think animal testing is worthwhile would be shocked to know that scientists don't even look for a non-painful alternative.
Every time a facility is cited for an animal welfare violation, every time an animal dies for research that provides no meaningful scientific knowledge, every time a scientist subjects an animal to cruel testing when there is an alternative, we see even more clearly that those whose profession is to torture animals do not care about the well-being or lives of animals or even humans.
Their only concern is securing their funding. UMW receives upwards of $300 million a year to experiment on animals. Animal experimentation is an over $100 billion a year industry worldwide.
The first forum at UMW will occur in November. I can only hope the scientists' plan backfires and people learn the horrible truth about animal experimentation.

Care2 is the largest and most trusted information and action site for people who care to make a difference in their lives and the world.Care2.com send We hate spam. In these hidden laboratories, innocent animals are dissected, suffocated, starved, exposed to radiation, shocked, isolated, blinded, injected with lethal drugs, forced to inhale tobacco smoke and consume alcohol and drugs, given heart attacks, have their limbs severed and are forced to endure countless other tortures to "serve the purpose of science".
Vivisection is a scam. It is unethical, unnecessary and unreliable. It is used greatly to pad the pockets of these ruthless animal abusers. Dr. Ray Greek, an anti-animal testing physician states, "Animal experimentation is not necessary. It is expensive. It is inaccurate. It is misleading. It consumes limited resources. And further, it is detrimental to the very species it professes to be working to help -- humankind." (Sacred Cows and Golden Geese, pg 223)
Up to 90% of test results gained through animal experimentation are literally thrown away because they're found to be inapplicable to humans. 88% of doctors agree this practice is often misleading due to anatomical and physiological differences between species. Had animal test results been heeded, aspirin, penicillin, insulin and vital cancer treatments would never have been made accessible to the public.
Charles Mayo, physician and founder of the prestigious Mayo Clinic was quoted as saying, "I know of no achievement through vivisection, no scientific discovery that could not have been obtained without such barbarism and cruelty. The whole thing is evil." (New York Daily News Mar. 13, 1961)
Even if testing on animals did yield consistent, relevant results, nothing justifies the absolutely savage abuse these animals endure at the hands of unfeeling humans. Don't support animal exploitation in any form, for any purpose. Buy 100% cruelty-free products.

With your support, PETA achieved many victories in 2010, some of which are shown in this video.
However, we still have a lot of work to do. For example, countless animals are right now facing death in cruel and pointless experiments in laboratories across the country. That's why I want to ask you to think of these individuals as you make your final, tax-deductible contributions this year.
Your compassion is changing the lives of countless individual animals around the world, including those who would otherwise face a life of pain, terror, and isolation inside a laboratory.
PETA's work has spared millions of animals—including dogs, cats, monkeys, rabbits, pigs, birds, mice, and rats—from suffering and dying in laboratories. We depend on the generosity of donors just like you to make this lifesaving work possible. Please consider a tax-deductible, year-end donation to PETA today to help animals everywhere and stop more nightmarish experiments in 2011 and beyond.
If you can give a gift of $25 or more, I'd be pleased to send you a complimentary copy of our 2011 "Rescued" calendar. This calendar features individual animals who got a second chance at life, thanks to PETA's work.
Together, we're building momentum—and now is the time to work even harder to put an end to animal experimentation. In recent weeks, we've received the following great news:
NASA canceled its plans to irradiate dozens of monkeys in cruel radiation tests after a year of vigorous campaigning and more than 100,000 e-mails and calls from PETA supporters.
Professional Laboratory Services shut its doors and released all its animals (more than 200 total) just one week after PETA released the findings from its shocking investigation of the North Carolina animal testing laboratory.
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development changed the requirements (pending formal approval) for a common toxicity test as a result of PETA's efforts. The move will save a minimum of 1,200 animals—and as many as 2,400—every time this frequently required test is conducted.
As encouraging as these recent victories are, we still have much more to do. By making a secure online gift to PETA right now, you can help us stop animal experimentation and continue our efforts to halt the suffering and abuse of all animals.
Your generosity is helping PETA win landmark cruelty-to-animals cases, dry up funding for animal testing programs, and bring ghastly experiments on animals to a screeching halt. You've helped us convince more than a thousand companies, including some of the world's largest corporations, to swear off animal tests forever. This is the difference that only friends like you can make.
Please help us bring about more groundbreaking changes for animals in 2011 by making a year-end donation to PETA today. Thank you for being such a powerful voice for animals who would otherwise suffer in silence.

Support The Pet Safety And Protection Act Under current laws, Class B Dealers and unlicensed animal dealers aren't held accountable for where they obtain the dogs and cats that they sell. It's a dangerous loophole as some dealers have been found trolling the classifieds for free pet ads, falsifying records to keep an animal's true origins unknown, and even stealing pets from their owners' yards. Some are then resold to unsuspecting families, but many more are being sold off to research laboratories. The U.S. Pet Safety And Protection Act would provide a much-needed safety net for pet owners, prohibiting these dealers from selling dogs and cats to research labs. Tell Congress to prioritize this bill in 2011 and send it to President Obama to be signed into law.

Monkeys Dosed with Narcotics: Addiction Experiment Documents Released
The New York State Supreme Court recently granted PCRM access to documents detailing addiction experiments on monkeys conducted by researchers with Columbia University and the New York State Psychiatric Institute.
Last month, the court ordered state officials to comply with a request from PCRM for 10 years of records detailing drug and alcohol addiction experiments on nonhuman primates by three Psychiatric Institute employees. PCRM filed the lawsuit after state officials withheld information requested under New York’s Freedom of Information Law.
“The court’s decision is a major victory for all New York taxpayers,” says PCRM general counsel Dan Kinburn. “These researchers have spent millions of dollars in public funds to conduct unnecessary experiments on primates, and New York residents have a right to know what they have been paying for.”
PCRM scientists say the experiments conducted by these scientists, which involve dosing primates with opioid drugs, marijuana, and alcohol, raise scientific and ethical concerns because nonhuman primates are not suitable models for studies of human drug addiction. One researcher named in the lawsuit has been conducting animal addiction experiments for at least three decades without apparent benefits for patients.
“Nonhuman primates do not choose to use drugs and alcohol—they have to be trained to do so,” says John Pippin, M.D., PCRM’s senior medical adviser. “They do not exhibit the complex physical and psychological factors that drive human beings to addiction, and they suffer both physically and mentally when confined in laboratory cages. All this makes them completely unsuitable subjects for addiction research.”

University of Pittsburgh Slow to Stop Killing Pigs for Trauma Training
The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center said it would phase out using and killing pigs in its trauma training course. But more pigs were recently killed.
In October, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) agreed to stop using pigs in its trauma training course following a complaint PCRM filed with the U.S. Department of Agriculture stating that the animal use was a violation of the Animal Welfare Act. But last month, pigs were killed at the end of the ATLS course.
Prior to the course, a group of Pennsylvania physicians co-signed a letter to Elizabeth Concordia, executive vice president of UPMC, speaking out against the school’s use of live animals for trauma training.
“Recent announcements by UPMC stating that the institution’s use of pigs in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) courses would end “in a few months” are promising, but that is not soon enough,” wrote the physicians. “We urge you to end this cruel and unnecessary animal use before this week’s course to ensure that UPMC offers the best educational experience possible.”
ATLS courses at UPMC use live, anesthetized pigs to teach procedures designed to respond to acute trauma injuries. These procedures include cricothyroidotomy (an incision in the neck to relieve an obstructed airway), pericardiocentesis (removing fluid from the sac that surrounds the heart), and chest tube insertion (draining blood, fluid, or air to allow the lung to fully expand). At the end of each course, the pigs are killed.
Of the 12 medical centers in Pennsylvania, UPMC is the last one still using live animals in its ATLS courses.
In part because of PCRM’s work educating ATLS programs on superior nonanimal alternatives, 95 percent of U.S. and Canadian facilities that provide training have ended their use of animals in favor of lifelike human patient simulators. Simulators such as the TraumaMan System are approved by the American College of Surgeons, the body that oversees the courses.
To help save animals at UPMC and the handful of ATLS programs that continue to use and kill animals, visit PCRM.org/Research.

Animal Abuse: Southwest National Primate Research Center’s Disturbing History
Where does the National Institutes of Health want to send the Alamogordo chimpanzees? If the federal government’s plans go forward, these incredibly intelligent animals will go from semi-retirement in New Mexico to a facility that recently conducted a necropsy on a baboon who was still alive. But PCRM’s federal complaint seeks to halt NIH’s planned transfer of nearly 200 federally owned chimpanzees to the Southwest National Primate Research Center.
"Southwest staff was 10 minutes into a necropsy of a male baboon before discovering that the animal was still alive. This incident highlights the widespread lack of proper animal care at a facility that currently houses more than 3,000 nonhuman primates,” the doctors and scientists argue in their complaint. “Not only did staff fail to identify whether the baboon was dead before beginning the necropsy, but the committee charged with overseeing all aspects of animal care at Southwest—the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)—failed to report the incident to facility administrators.”
The legal petition filed with Kathleen Sebelius, secretary of Health and Human Services, invokes the Chimpanzee Health Improvement Maintenance and Protection (CHIMP) Act, enacted to ensure that chimpanzees used in experiments for many years can be retired to sanctuaries. Many Alamogordo chimpanzees are elderly, have been used repeatedly for invasive procedures, and deserve a peaceful retirement, PCRM’s complaint says. For example, Flo, Guy, and James were born in 1957, 1959, and 1960, respectively.
“There can be no scientific, legal, or ethical justification for returning a 50-year-old chimpanzee to laboratory experiments,” says John J. Pippin, M.D., F.A.C.C., senior medical and research adviser for PCRM. “More than five decades of experiments have shown us that chimpanzees are poor models for researching human diseases. Are we such slow learners that we now return to these outdated methods?”
Dr. Pippin and 11 other authorities, including Harvard emeritus professor Richard Wrangham, Ph.D., and University of New Mexico professor John Gluck, Ph.D., co-signed the petition.
The petition also describes dozens of other disturbing violations at the Southwest National Primate Research Center where the Alamogordo chimpanzees are scheduled to be transferred by the end of the year. The center has been cited for at least 30 violations of the federal Animal Welfare Act, the law that sets minimum standards of care for animals in laboratories. Recent U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) inspections detail:
a researcher who planned to perform multiple cesarean sections on the same animal without any justification given to the USDA; inadequate housing and monitoring that allowed a young rhesus macaque to escape his enclosure at night when temperatures were below freezing; the following morning, the animal was found “moribund” and was euthanized likely due to the results of hypothermia; and multiple baboons who recently escaped their enclosures while being moved, injuring employees. The mothers of some Alamogordo chimpanzees now live in a sanctuary in Washington State—Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest—and have come to the attention of Sen. Maria Cantwell. Sen. Cantwell recently introduced the Great Ape Protection Act (GAPA), S. 3694, which would advance medical research by phasing out wasteful and misleading chimpanzee experiments and releasing federally owned chimpanzees to sanctuaries. A parallel House bill, H.R. 1326, has gained significant momentum and now has 151 co-sponsors.
Urge the federal government to retire the Alamogordo chimpanzees. Then ask Congress to pass GAPA at PCRM.org GAPA.

Comedian Carol Leifer Supports Cruelty-Free Charities in New Radio Ad
Carol Leifer finds humor in everything—except not knowing where her money goes when she donates to a health charity. That is, until she discovered the Humane Charity Seal of Approval. In “Give and Let Live,” a new radio public service announcement, she explains how this PCRM program helps donors find charities that provide vital care and advance research without using animals.
Leifer, a stand-up comic and author who has written for such iconic television shows as Seinfeld, Saturday Night Live, and the Academy Awards, urges donors to “Give and Let Live” by supporting compassionate charities committed to providing vital services and care to patients or advancing research without the use of animals.
“Animal experiments are no joke. Thank goodness scientists are finding better, more humane ways to develop treatments for cancer and other killer diseases,” says Leifer in the PSA. For Leifer and many others who donate to charities, a key concern is whether their donations might fund animal experiments.
An estimated 115 to 127 million animals are currently used in experimental research worldwide. But a growing number of scientists believe that animal experimentation is scientifically flawed for physiological, genetic, and procedural reasons. Answers to the most pressing human health problems—heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and others—lie in understanding human cells, human genes, and, in some cases, human habits.
As Leifer explains, the Humane Charity Seal of Approval is the easiest way for donors to identify humane health charities. With a rapidly expanding and diversifying list of approved charities, the Humane Charity Seal of Approval is leading the way into a new era of humane giving.
The comprehensive list of humane health charities, as well as a wealth of information on the latest breakthroughs in research without the use of animals, is available at HumaneSeal.org.
To listen to the “Give and Let Live” PSA, visit HumaneSeal.org.

Thank you and best regards.

Animal Shelter Still Betraying Dogs!
A year after PETA's lawsuit was filed, Davis County, Utah, has finally provided PETA with the records of more than 100 cats and dogs betrayed by its animal shelter and sold to the University of Utah to be tormented in cruel and painful experiments.
Thanks to PETA's undercover investigation at the University of Utah, animal shelters in Utah are no longer required to sell dogs and cats to laboratories, and the Davis County shelter has ended the shameful practice. Yet there is one shelter that continues to sentence animals in its care to be tortured and killed: North Utah Valley Animal Shelter (NUVAS).
Please speak up for dogs like Aeris, who is "friendly and sweet," and Chance, who "loves fetch and belly rubs"—both sold to the University of Utah to be used in invasive and deadly experiments. Urge NUVAS to stop betraying the helpless animals trusted to its care!

Laboratory Victims Get Their Due .. ...Posted 12-23-2010 2 Comments In response to our January 2010 lawsuit (and with a court date rapidly approaching), Davis County, Utah, has finally agreed to abide by the law and provide PETA with the intake forms and transfer records for the approximately 100 dogs and cats that it's animal shelter callously sold to the University of Utah in 2009 to be tormented in experiments. While Davis County ended this shameful practice earlier this year, these records will show that the homeless dogs and cats who are unfortunate enough to end up cut up and killed in the university's laboratories have names and personalities and are no different than the animals whom many of us consider family and with whom we share our homes. Indeed, some were peoples' lost and surrendered animal companions.
Under the agreement, Davis County will be reimbursing PETA for 50 percent of PETA's legal fees—nearly $18,000.
Since our subsequent undercover investigation at the University of Utah, the state legislature amended the law so that government-operated animal shelters are no longer required to sell dogs and cats to laboratories for use in cruel and deadly experiments upon request. Only one shelter in the state—Lindon's North Utah Valley Animal Shelter (NUVAS)—continues to profit by betraying homeless animals and selling them to the university.
Please take a moment to urge NUVAS to stop stocking the university's laboratories with helpless victims.

To visitors, North Utah Valley Animal Shelter (NUVAS) may seem like a typical safe haven for animals. The facility's intake documents describe dogs as "very cute" and "cuddly" and state that they "love to play fetch" and "enjoy belly rubs"—perhaps reminding you of a loving canine companion you share your home with and consider a member of the family. Tragically, however, these words describe many dogs the North Utah Valley Animal Shelter has sold to the University of Utah for invasive and deadly experiments. Dogs recently purchased from the animal shelter had holes cut into their chests and necks and pacemakers implanted onto their hearts in order to induce irregular heartbeats; the dogs were then killed and dissected.
North Utah Valley Animal Shelter is the only animal shelter in the state of Utah that continues to betray animals in its care and profit from the abuse of these animals in cruel and deadly experiments. Learn about Max, Gracie Lou, and other dogs who were denied a second chance at a loving home, and tell North Utah Valley Animal Shelter to stop its despicable practice of selling dogs and cats for experimentation.

Recipients Bob Conner Tug Gettling Message * Subject Dear [Decision Maker],
* (Edit Letter Below) I was dismayed to learn that–although every other animal shelter in the state has ended the shameful practice–the North Utah Valley Animal Shelter continues to betray the animals it is charged with protecting by selling them to the University of Utah for cruel and deadly experiments.
Taxpayers support animal shelters in the hope that the facilities will help alleviate animal suffering in this world, not contribute to it by treating homeless dogs and cats as cheap laboratory equipment for animal experimenters. I urge you to immediately stop violating the trust of Utah taxpayers and animals and to make the shelter stop releasing dogs and cats to the University of Utah. Sincerely, [Your Name]

Thank you for letting us know your concerns about the use of animal testing. We at Environmental Defense Fund respect the work that animal rights and animal welfare organizations have done over the years to support alternatives to animal testing.EDF itself is working to advance a number of efforts aimed at reducing the need for animal testing and enhancing the development and use of non-animal alternatives to chemical testing and assessment. For example, we are closely following and encouraging progress under the Federal government’s Tox21 initiative. Under this initiative, EPA and several other agencies are working to implement the vision for reducing animal testing that was spelled out in the National Academy of Sciences’ report, Toxicity Testing in the 21st Century. We also are pressing EPA to enhance its reporting system for chemical use and exposure under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). Such enhancements will provide more reliable information to allow the agency to better prioritize which chemicals to focus on first in requiring more toxicity data.EDF also is working to ensure maximum access to chemical information already being developed in Europe under the REACH Regulation, to ensure there is no unnecessary or duplicative testing of chemicals. Finally, we strongly support provisions for TSCA reform that would allow and facilitate the use of a variety of types of information to determine chemical safety, not just information derived from new chemical testing. There are two issues that still divide us, I think. The first is whether animal testing continues to be needed. As reflected in recent reports by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and the European Commission's Scientific Committee, the state of the science clearly indicates that, unfortunately, testing on a limited number of laboratory animals (rodents, fish, shrimp and earthworms) is still necessary to prevent even greater harm to our ecosystems and the animals and humans that live in them. EDF does not support animal testing except in those cases where it provides information that is critical to understanding and preventing potential harm to humans, animals and the environment; and where there are not yet alternatives accepted by the scientific community. With these concerns in mind, our scientists are working to develop and implement policies that call for animal testing only where necessary. The second divide is whether animal testing is ethically acceptable in situations where it is needed. We respect the values that lead some people to oppose animal testing, and recognize the deeply held conviction of some that humans do not have the right to use living creatures for human purposes, however vital those purposes may be. We admire that position, but we do not share it. As long as (and only as long as) current scientific research indicates that limited animal testing is still necessary to avoid greater harm, we believe that it is ethical. DDT, PCBs, asbestos, and leaded gasoline are just a few examples where more up-front testing would have prevented significant ecological, animal, and human harm.EDF was founded by scientists concerned about animal welfare – specifically the eagles and ospreys that were being harmed by the spraying of the pesticide DDT. Since then, emerging science has only made clearer the fact that animals are among the first and most heavily impacted victims of the large-scale exposure to chemicals that have been allowed to be used without requiring them to be shown to be safe. Our knowledge of the endocrine-disrupting effects of chemicals originated with studies of animals in the wild. Growing evidence indicates that the widespread and increasing deformations and gender-bending effects seen in wild fish and amphibians are the result of chemical exposures. We now know that wildlife in the remotest parts of the Earth carry dangerous levels of persistent substances in their bodies. All of these impacts of under-assessed chemicals affect untold billions or trillions of animals in the wild.EDF continues to work to prevent additional harm to the health of all creatures resulting from exposure to dangerous or inadequately studied chemicals. We will continue to support the development of alternatives to animal testing, and will remain indebted to those who are watching closely to make sure that we do. Sincerely,Fred Krupp President Environmental Defense Fund
