We've discovered that shocking experiments on kittens have taken place at Cardiff University.

Some kittens were raised in complete darkness while others were deprived of the sight in one eye by having their eyelids sewn shut. The kittens were then anaesthetised, artificially ventilated and paralysed with a drug to prevent eye movements. They were then subjected to highly invasive head surgery during which the skin was cut away, the skull was opened and the brain was exposed for recordings. After various tests, all the kittens were killed and parts of their brain removed for analysis. Sophisticated methods of studying vision and the neurologic processes underlying it in human beings already exist. Not only is this experiment inhumane, it is unnecessary for human health.Ricky Gervais has joined the BUAV in calling for an end to these experiments: “I am appalled that kittens are being deprived of sight in one eye by having their eyelids sewn shut. I thought sickening experiments like these were a thing of the past. I support the BUAV in calling for this research to be stopped.”

Dear Vice-Chancellor & Chair of the Council,

I am writing to express my concern following the recent media coverage of experiments carried out at the University on cats and kittens. One experiment involved a group of kittens raised in complete darkness from birth for periods of up to 12 weeks while others were deprived of the sight in one eye by having their eyelids sewn shut. Under anaesthesia, artificially ventilated and injected with a drug to paralyse eye movements, the kittens were subjected to highly invasive head surgery during which the skin was cut away, the skull was opened and the brain was exposed for recordings. Following tests, the animals were killed and parts of their brains removed for analysis.Research of this nature raises strong ethical concerns as well as questions of scientific validity. There are substantial differences in structure and function of the visual system in cats versus human beings. Sophisticated methods of studying vision and the neurologic processes underlying it in human beings already exist. Not only are your studies inhumane, they are unnecessary for human health.At a time when there is increasing public awareness and growing concern surrounding animal research, I find it unacceptable for kittens to be used in these experiments. This experiment was publicly funded by the Medical Research Council and it is important that academic institutions, such as Cardiff University, are held accountable for the pain and suffering they inflict on animals.I urge the Council of the University of Cardiff to end all experiments on cats and kittens.

AIR FRANCE-KLM is the only major European carrier that still ships primates for medical research. PATTON BOGGS mediates global trade and transportation issues as lawyers and lobbyists for the airlines. Both are complicit in cruelty and scientific deceit. Primates are trapped in trees rigged with nets. Stuffed into mesh sacks. They shriek and claw at enclosures. No one hears. They are taken. Some are bred on barren, concrete farms that churn out live product for the international animal research trade. Nonhuman primates are valued models for experimentation, though they fail to produce clinical symptoms or data relevant to human disease processes, and can even mislead experimenters with false conclusions.To reach research labs, animals are crated and trucked for miles. Most wind up in the extreme heat or cold of a plane's poorly ventilated cargo hold, where they are caged during flights that can last 60 hours. They enter a world bound by metal bars, pain and fear. Primates are induced with human disease and injury. Experimenters poison, overdose and mutilate monkeys. Electrodes are lodged in exposed brain matter. Seizures are stimulated. Limbs removed…

Air France-KLM and Patton Boggs, LLP:

Air France-KLM is the only major European carrier to still ship primates for research. As their advocate, Patton Boggs facilitates global trade and transportation issues for the airlines. I ask both companies to acknowledge worldwide objection to primate "cargo." Please consider that 80 percent of responders to a 2010 European Directive about animal research oppose experiments on primates. In the U.S., an Institute Of Medicine report has fueled potential passage of a bill to ban most research on chimps and great apes.Primate data can rarely be replicated or used reliably in drug/vaccine development. Primates fail to produce clinical symptoms relevant to human disease processes - and even mislead experimenters with false conclusions. Conversely, human-focused systems such as bioinformatics, in-vitro cell/tissue culture analysis, life-like simulators, etc. better evaluate products and treatment for people.

Why should you care? Because Air France and Patton Boggs are conduits to profound animal cruelty. Primates are trapped in trees and stuffed into mesh sacks. Still, we have no cures for infectious disease, AIDS, neurological disease (Alzheimer's, Parkinson's), and other ailments studied in primates.Some 85 vaccines to cure or prevent HIV infection looked good in animals, mostly monkeys, according to Dr. John Pippin, a former Harvard University medical professor who testified before the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Institute of Medicine in 2005. Those vaccines, tested in clinical trials, all failed. In 2012, a Colombia court denied permits for renowned malaria researcher Dr. Manuel Elkin Patarroyo to trap 4,000 night monkeys. After decades of primate research at Patarroyo's Institute of Immunology Foundation, a malaria cure is nowhere in sight. I ask Air France to join Delta, American, Virgin Atlantic, US Airways, British Airways, Lufthansa, Air China, Cathay Pacific, Air India, El Al Airlines...and most big flight companies that reject primate cargo. I urge Patton Boggs to distance itself from the airlines until it officially bans primate transfer for research. This is a matter of worldwide concern. World Week For Animals In Laboratories (WWAIL)

Events Start This Friday!
World Week for Animals in Laboratories (April 21-29) is starting a little early this year on the opening day of Disney's new movie "Chimpanzee" - this Friday (April 20)!
If you are in the Portland area, please join us in passing out fliers in support of the Great Ape Protection and Cost Savings Act - which would end chimpanzee experimentation in the U.S. - outside local theaters showing "Chimpanzee" (details below). Terrified Monkey Returns From Wasteful Trip to Space

With the news of a monkey allegedly launched into space, Iran is repeating the wasteful and cruel mistakes that marked the darkest days of the space race. PETA urged Dr Hamid Fazeli, head of the Iranian Space Agency, to ground the misguided mission back in 2011, pointing out that primates are no longer sent into space by the American or European space agencies. We are appalled by photos of a visibly terrified monkey crudely strapped into a restraint device in which he was allegedly launched into space by the Iranian Space Agency. Monkeys are highly intelligent and sensitive animals who not only are traumatised by the violence and noise of a launch and landing but also suffer when caged in a laboratory before and – if they survive – after a flight. The European Space Agency which represents Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK – has a very active space exploration programme and has publicly stated that it “declines any interest in monkey research and does not consider any need or use for such results”. The ESA instead employs modern technology such as the state-of-the-art simulators to assess health risks for astronauts.NASA ended the use of primates in space radiation experiments in the early 1990s, when it determined that the results were not relevant to human astronauts. In 2010, NASA’s plans to restart the programme were cancelled after PETA and others voiced strong ethical and scientific objections to the ill-advised plan.

As a past spokesperson for SHAC USA (Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty), I marched beside activists with common purpose: To close Huntingdon Life Sciences — one of the world’s largest contract research labs. HLS annually kills some 180,000 animals to test pesticides, fertilizers, cleaners, cosmetics, sweeteners, drugs…anything they’re hired to screen. SHAC USA formed in 2001 to shut down HLS. They targeted HLS customers, suppliers and financiers in an unrelenting campaign of letters, emails, faxes and unprecedented national/local protests. In 2006, SHAC USA leaders were imprisoned for the crime of free speech under the Animal Enterprise Protection Act — an obscure law to protect animal industry profits. Kinship Circle’s Brenda Shoss Speaks About Current State Of Anti-HLS Campaign, For Activist Gathering In Rome, Italy

Brenda was asked to speak for a SMASH Vivisection information evening with videos and talks about the campaign to close Huntingdon Life Sciences, among the world’s largest animal testing laboratories. With facilities in England and New Jersy, HLS annually kills some 180,000 animals to test pesticides, fertilizers, household goods, cosmetics, sweeteners, pharmaceuticals…for any company that contracts them to screen a product.

Activist Tino Verducci organized the event in conjunction with the Rewild Club and Coordinamento Antispecista — an Italian group that has drawn 7,000 participants to protest animal circuses and 10,000 for a demonstration against Green Hill, a commercial breeder that supplies animals for vivisection.

Last spring, cheers were heard around the world when Italian activists seized 40 dogs in a daylight raid of Green Hill’s compound in the village of Montichiari in Brescia, Italy. The lucky pups were spared from life in an experimentation lab. Brenda was thrilled to speak with activists from such a vibrant animal rights community.

During Brenda's 1/22/13 talk, a translator interpreted her words for the audience. But no translation was needed for her movie, The Campaign That Changed Everything. Graphic images of cruelty inside Huntingdon, followed by U.S. activists in full protest mode, spoke for themselves.

SHAC UK, the global campaign to shut down HLS, was unable to sponsor this event due to legal issues in Italy since 2005. Anti-HLS activists face similar government suppression worldwide. In fact, some organizers behind the 1/22 gathering were themselves raided and arrested for conspiracy to commit SOCPA 145 & 146 in relation to SHAC between Oct 2011-June 2012, apparently covering 25 separate "incidents." Out on bail till April, they are barred from speaking to each other or any form of protest against SHAC targets.

Cops seized their phones, laptops, storage devices, cameras, etc. in a raid reminiscent of the SHAC 7 witch hunt, along with many more activist invasions since then. Brenda discussed how the government-business stronghold on anti-HLS activists has stalled (but not stopped) SHAC activity…

The booklet was written from scribbled notes during the Oct 29, 2001 SHAC USA protest against Stephens Inc. in Little Rock, AR.At that time, Stephens had given HLS a $33 million dollar "survival loan" and maintained at least 45.6 million shares in HLS stock. They were Huntingdon’s biggest financial supporter, allowing the unstable research lab to kill 500 animals a day.

INSIDE refers to the daily violence to animals at Huntingdon Life Sciences. OUTSIDE is about how forcefully animal-abuse industries defend their blood-money. It also depicts lawyers, law enforcers and others who use extreme measures to suppress activists.

Dear U.S. Congress Members,

A new rule in the National Defense Authorization Act requires the Department of Defense to report how animals are used in combat simulations to train medics. The Secretary of Defense has till 3/1/13 to submit a strategy for "transition to use of human-based methods in certain trainings."

This is the first time Congress has approved binding language on military animal tests. As a voter in your district, I am deeply grateful.

Still, we can do better for the men and women who serve this country. Michael P. Murphy, MD, medical general counsel for Iraq War Veterans Organization, has stated: "No animal can adequately duplicate the anatomy and physiology of injuries inflicted upon the human body in war."

As your constituent, I urge you to introduce and/or support complete replacement of military animal use with human-based models. Combat medics who amputate goat legs, bomb pigs, overdose monkeys on chemical or biological agents, and more artificially induced conditions, are not armed with the best skills to save lives in the field.

The DOD annually guns down, blows up, dismembers and poisons tens of thousands of pigs, goats, primates, dogs, cats and other animals — even though advanced computer simulations and sensor-studded mannequins can supply data more relevant to humans.

The internal organs of humans and other species differ in size, location, texture and elasticity. Knowledge acquired from animals may deceive trainees and foster false assurance in their own capabilities. Case in point: For a past drill to test QuikClot on acute hemorrhage, stabbed and shot pigs survived at a rate of nearly 100 percent. In the field, this remedy failed and soldiers died.

In previous sessions of Congress, the Battlefield Excellence Through Superior Training Practices Act (H.R.1417 / S.3418) sought to develop, test and validate human-focused medical training. The BEST Practices Act set a 10/1/16 deadline for transition to animal- free technology alone. Please help any legislation with similar goals gain traction in the 113th Congress.

The Army’s Rascon School of Combat Medicine at Fort Campbell has shown that training "on [simulators] is more realistic to providing care for a person than training on animals." The Air Force Center for Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills and the Navy Trauma Training Center also use human-related methods in place of live animals.

It’s time to modernize all military medical training, as most of our NATO allies have done. Please support a comprehensive ban on military animal labs and prioritize optimal training for soldiers.

When Harry Harlow first subjected infant monkeys to his infamous "Well Of Despair" in the 1950s, he disgraced UW. These studies did not advance medical treatment then or now. Artificial rupture of the mother-baby bond is already well documented. Any perceived need for more data is overshadowed by the unethical character of the tests.

Among mammals, baby primates are especially dependent upon mothers for psychological health. To rob them of any sense of self, then kill them, is animal desecration and exploitation at its worst.

Dear University Of Wisconsin IACUC Personnel and Animal Research Faculty:

I have reviewed "Animal Research at University of Wisconsin-Madison," which states that students, faculty and scientists engaged in animal experimentation believe their work is ethical when executed under "strict regulation, in situations where practical alternatives do not exist."

I respectfully submit a practical alternative to UW’s maternal deprivation tests: Permanently end them. Here is why:

UW states that animal research is essential for human disease/disability treatments and promotion of health/safety for animals, people and environment. A decade-long National Institutes of Health study concluded that isolated infant monkeys self-mutilate. Adverse response to maternal separation is already documented. Re-proving the same basic paradigm does not advance health/safety treatments.

Taxpayer dollars spent on the neurobiology of fear in primates waste money and time. Among mammals, primate infants are unusually dependent upon mothers for psychological health. One need only look to young monkeys at a primate sanctuary (rescued from adverse conditions), and speak to their rehabilitative caregivers, to gain insight. Yet UW’s Chair of the Psychiatry, Dr. Ned H. Kalin, hopes to top $5,075,798 spent (in 10 years alone) to note variations between dissected brains of mentally distressed monkeys versus mother-reared monkeys. [National Institutes of Health. Any perceived need for more data is overshadowed by the unethical character of the tests. Institutional Animal Care & Use Committees (IACUCs) assess research protocols for adherence to the Animal Welfare Act. Amendments to the AWA in 1985, along with Institute For Laboratory Animal Research guidelines from 1998, call for the "psychological well-being of captive nonhuman primates." The crux of maternal deprivation is to withhold these very requirements: "Appropriate social companionship; positive interactions with personnel that are not a source of unnecessary stress; freedom from unnecessary pain and distress."

One presumes UW ACUCs have overwhelming incentive to seek exemption. However, what the public sees (from Freedom Of Information requested records) are ACUC personnel who failed to reject controversial protocols known to inflict severe suffering.

When Harry Harlow subjected infant monkeys to mental anguish in the 1950s, he publicly disgraced the University of Wisconsin. Harlow’s ruthless tests even served as partial cause to amend the AWA in 1985. A renewal of similar madness humiliates UW once again, and frankly, defies logic.

I strongly encourage review committees to do their job, rather than grant consent for every animal study put forth for consideration. Please chose and promote the most practical alternative available: Permanently end maternal deprivation studies.

A Historic Day for Animals and Consumers

It's official – as of today, 11 March, no more animals will be tormented, maimed and killed for the sake of the cosmetics products on shop shelves. That's right: thanks to the new EU sales ban on animal-tested cosmetics, which goes into effect today, Europe has become a whole lot more compassionate! The new law reflects the public's conviction that cosmetics cannot come before animals' lives. While we're celebrating this wonderful achievement, we also wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who spoke out against cruel cosmetics tests to help make this happen – including you! Today's victory gives a huge boost to everyone who wants to make the world a better place. It shows that when compassionate people work together, we can make a difference. We can outlaw cruelty. And we can save animals' lives.

Today’s the Day – Europe’s Cosmetics Testing Ban Starts NOW

Open the champagne – it’s official: from today, no more animals will be tormented, maimed and killed for the sake of the cosmetics products on our shelves. Yes, it’s 11 March, the day that the EU Cosmetics Testing Sales Ban finally comes into force, a cause for celebration for animals, consumers and science. So how did we get here? It’s been an epic campaign, spanning more than 20 years and including hard work by caring people determined to put a stop to the atrocities committed against animals in laboratories. There have been landmarks along the way, such as the ban on testing finished cosmetics products in Britain in 1998 and the 2009 EU ban on cosmetics testing within Europe. But this new ban closes the final loophole, by guaranteeing that neither the products we buy here nor their ingredients will have been tested on animals, inside or outside the EU. Get more details about what the ban means for you and your shopping habits here. The new law reflects the public’s conviction that cosmetics cannot come before animals’ lives. If you helped us reach this landmark by joining a protest, sending a letter or e-mail to decision-makers, or speaking out against cruel testing in any other way, give yourself a well-deserved pat on the back. This achievement couldn’t have happened without you! Of course, we’re not going to stop campaigning against other forms of inhumane animal testing that still go on in this country. Public concern about oversight of research protocols

Thank you for contacting us and expressing your concern about animal-based research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. We take your views seriously, as we do our responsibility to care for the animals in our charge and treat them with respect.

Know that the information now being disseminated about research at our university is far from an accurate representation of the work to be conducted. The primary aim of the research is achieving an understanding of how adversity early in life can influence the brain, knowledge that can be the basis for new interventions to aid people with a range of common conditions, including anxiety disorder, depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. UW research has helped point to the importance of early childhood interventions to save children from developing anxiety, depression and the drug and alcohol abuse that can arise from such conditions. Anxiety and depression can be crippling, and this important research provides a real chance to better understand and alleviate human suffering, which is the ultimate goal of the study.

Victory! Nature's Gate Ends Sales in China

Rabbits are on a roll! Natural-products giant Nature's Gate just became the fourth company to pull out of the Chinese market until the country stops requiring tests on animals for cosmetics. After talks with PETA, Nature's Gate agreed that there is nothing pretty about tormenting animals in laboratories, and the company chose to forgo the large Chinese market, rather than sacrificing its commitment to being cruelty-free.

Cosmetics and Household-Product Animal Testing

As hard as it is to believe, some personal care and cleaning product companies still conduct cruel, unnecessary experiments on animals. Huge multiproduct manufacturers, including Unilever, SC Johnson and Johnson & Johnson, driven by a fear of lawsuits (though animal tests have not proved effective in a company's defense when a consumer sues) and, inexplicably, frozen by inertia, continue to poison, burn, and blind animals in tests. Their reluctance to change in the face of consumer demand and superior non-animal test methods is difficult to understand, but one company CEO once told PETA that companies that continue to blind and poison animals do so simply because they have always done so and don't have the vision to try a new and better way. This reluctance to change is especially unforgivable considering the current wide availability of superior non-animal tests. Instead of measuring how long it takes a chemical to burn away the cornea of a rabbit's eye, manufacturers can now drop that chemical onto donated human corneas. Human skin cultures can be grown and ordered for irritancy testing. These and dozens more tests now in use today are cheaper, faster, and more accurate at predicting human reactions to a product than the old animal tests ever were.

The best way to stop companies from using animals is to refuse to purchase their products and to write and tell them why you won't be applying their eye shadow, cleaning your clothes with their detergent, or washing your child's hair with their shampoo. The good news is that today there is a multitude of cruelty-free cosmetics and household products that are not tested on animals. With companies such as Urban Decay able to meet all your cosmetics needs and Method able to provide all your household needs (just to name a few), you can find cruelty-free products just about anywhere. Animal testing for cosmetics in Europe finally set to end!

2013 is set to be a truly historic year for Cruelty Free International and our founding organisation the BUAV:

The BUAV’s long-fought campaign to end animal testing for cosmetics is finally nearing an end in Europe, with the implementation of the last phase of the European Union’s ban set to come into force on 11th March 2013.

We are immensely proud of this achievement – we have been campaigning to end animal testing for cosmetics for over 40 years – and we have finally done it!

A long-fought road to victory

1898 - The British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV) was founded to campaign against all forms of animal testing

1973 - The BUAV first brought the issue of cosmetics testing on animals to the public attention

1990 - The BUAV established the European Coalition to End Cosmetics Tests on Animals (now the European Coalition to End Animal Experiments – ECEAE) an alliance of leading European animal organisations formed for the purpose of ending animal tests for cosmetics in the EU

1991 - The BUAV and ECEAE organise an international march and rally in Brussels and an iconic, larger than life ‘laboratory rabbit’ Vanity tours countries across Europe to urge MEPs to vote to end animal tests for cosmetics

1996 - Anita Roddick, founder of The Body Shop, joined members of the BUAV, ECEAE, MEPs and Chrissie Hynde in presenting a petition containing 4 million signatures to the European Commission to end animal testing for cosmetics

2004 - A ban on animal testing of finished cosmetic products (but not ingredients) was imposed in Europe

2009 - Testing of cosmetic ingredients on animals anywhere in the EU is made illegal, as was selling or importing into the EU any animal tested ingredients to be used in cosmetics. However, three animal tests were made exempt in order to allow non-animal tests to be validated.

2011 - The BUAV and its European partners launch the No Cruel Cosmetics campaign to call for the import and sales ban to be implemented in 2013 as planned without delay or derogation.

2012 - The BUAV founds Cruelty Free International, the first organisation to campaign for a global ban on animal tests for consumer products. The Body Shop hosts our global pledge campaign in its stores worldwide.

11th March 2013 - A complete ban on animal testing for cosmetics is implemented in the EU.

What the EU ban on the import and sale of animal tested cosmetics will mean

After 11th March, no company can carry out new animal tests for cosmetics purposes outside of the EU for products to be sold in the EU. Cosmetics companies can, however, continue to sell in the EU products with ingredients that have been animal tested in the past.

If a product has ingredients which have been animal tested after the ban comes into effect, a company will not be able to market this in Europe, even if it sells the same product in other global markets.

Companies (even if they are based in the EU) will still be able to sell products with animal tested ingredients outside of the EU, assuming that the animal testing was done somewhere else in the world. This opens up the theoretical possibility of a company conducting animal tests for ingredients in some markets but using non animal methods and existing data for the EU Market. Aside from the animal welfare implications, this would obviously increase costs and effort for companies so we hope that the more likely impact is that global companies put an increasing emphasis on non-animal tests for all of their markets.

Over 80% of the world still allows animal testing for cosmetics and some countries, notably China, require imported products to be tested on animals before they reach the market. The impact of the EU ban for global companies makes change in other markets much more likely. Cruelty Free International is now building on success achieved in the EU to call on all Governments to end animal testing for cosmetics which will give a level playing field to all companies.

Recently, Philippine Airlines flew 190 pig-tailed macaque monkeys, who were crammed into tiny crates, from Indonesia to the Los Angeles International Airport. Once there, the monkeys were transported thousands of kilometers in loud, dark, and terrifying cargo trucks to a laboratory where monkeys have been subjected to cruel and deadly experiments in which they are intentionally infected with diseases and have holes drilled into their skulls.

Philippine Airlines continues to ship monkeys to laboratories for use in experimentation, even though almost every other major airline has already stopped this cruel practice. Many of the monkeys who are transported on Philippine Airlines flights to laboratories are torn away from their families in the wild.

We Need Your Help

Fortunately, air passengers concerned about the treatment of animals have other options. Almost all major passenger and cargo airlines in the world—including Air China, Thai Airways, China Southern Airlines, Singapore Airlines, EVA Air, and Cathay Pacific—now refuse to ship primates to laboratories.

Philippine Airlines continues to ship monkeys to laboratories for use in experimentation, even though almost every other major airline has already stopped this cruel practice. Monkeys on Philippine Airlines flights are stuffed into wooden crates and transported on long journeys in the dark, terrifying cargo holds of airplanes to laboratories, where they are locked inside barren cages, poisoned, cut open, and killed in barbaric experiments. Many of the monkeys who meet this horrible fate are torn away from their families in the wild.

According to documents obtained by PETA U.S., in two shipments in July and August of 2012, Philippine Airlines flew 190 pig-tailed macaque monkeys crammed into tiny crates from Indonesia to the Los Angeles International Airport. Once there, the monkeys were transported nearly 1,500 miles in loud, dark, and terrifying cargo trucks to a Texas quarantine facility run by the notorious Shin Nippon Biomedical Laboratories before being trucked another 2,700 miles to the University of Washington-affiliated Washington National Primate Research Center in Seattle.

Fortunately, air passengers concerned about the treatment of animals have other options. Almost all major passenger and cargo airlines in the world—including Air China, Thai Airways, China Southern Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and Cathay Pacific—now refuse to ship primates to laboratories.

Please take a minute of your time to urge Philippine Airlines to join these other airlines by adopting a formal policy prohibiting the transport of primates destined for experiments.

I was dismayed to learn that Philippine Airlines continues to ship monkeys to laboratories, despite the fact that nearly every other major airline in the world has stopped this cruel practice.

After enduring long and grueling transport in the terrifying cargo holds of Philippine Airlines' planes and in the backs of trucks, these primates arrive at laboratories, where they are mutilated, poisoned, deprived of food and water, forcibly immobilized in restraint devices, infected with painful and deadly diseases and psychologically tormented. Virtually every other major airline--including Air China, Thai Airways, China Southern Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and Cathay Pacific--refuses to participate in this cruelty and prohibits the transport of primates destined for use in experiments.

I won't be flying Philippine Airlines until you decide to join leading airline companies by adopting and adhering to a formal policy prohibiting the transport of primates destined for laboratories. We call upon you to end this cruelty. Take a stand in ending this inhumane practice of animal testing and vivisection. This has been a controversial issue for many years. With biomedical research and biotechnology advancing rapidly , we should not test on animals. Animals are subjected to excruciating pain day after day, they end up passing away from abuse or end up going insane. And die from neglect or stravation. I ask all to make a compassionate plea to end this cruel abusive treatment and take a stand.And perhaps by ending animal testing and vivisection, we will become a society that values compassion.We need to force the hand of greed to cure diseases that have plagued humans for decades, and end cruel animal testing.
