If you still need a compelling reason to ditch fur, look no further—Donna Karan is at it again, torturing and killing rabbits for the sake of a fur coat.
Every year, millions of animals suffer in tiny, filthy wire cages while awaiting their doom. When their time comes, rabbits, foxes, dogs, and cats are killed by some of the most barbaric methods available, like anal electrocution. Those who survive these crude methods are violently skinned alive. Despite being aware of this cruelty, Donna Karan continues to butcher bunnies for her fashion line.

With so many compassionate designers choosing to ditch fur, Donna Karan's killer "fashion" has got to go. Please urge Donna Karan to make the compassionate choice by ditching the bloody fur industry and going faux!

Despite knowing about the suffering that goes into every fur-trimmed coat, hat, and bag, Donna Karan has made the cruel decision to use the skins of dead rabbits in her clothing lines.
Animals on fur farms spend their entire lives confined to cramped, filthy wire cages, and fur farmers use the cheapest and cruelest killing methods available. Foxes, minks, coyotes, and rabbits—and even dogs and cats—are bludgeoned, genitally electrocuted, and often skinned alive for their fur.
One of the best ways that you can help animals who are beaten and tortured for their fur is to tell Donna Karan executives that you'll boycott the designer's collections until she stops using fur. Many top designers—including Stella McCartney, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, and Liz Claiborne—have chosen to create wonderful work without using animal fur. Speak out against the killing of animals for their skins. Write to Donna Karan executives now and urge them to dump fur for good.

Millions of dogs and cats in China are bludgeoned, strangled with wire nooses and literally bled to death, just so their fur can be turned into trim and trinkets. Frequently, products made from their fur are deliberately mislabeled as other species’ fur and exported to the United States and other countries to be sold to unsuspecting consumers in retail stores. MOST PEOPLE wearing dog and cat fur DON’T EVEN KNOW IT! This act is cruel and BRUTAL!

No regulations exist to govern fur farms in China which allows fur farmers to house and slaughter animals however they please – the resulting conditions, treatment and excruciating deaths are horrific. Recent undercover investigations in China's Hebei Province found horrors beyond belief. Chinese fur farm conditions make a mockery of the most elementary animal welfare standards. Dogs and cats are denied any type of compassion

Dogs and cats are skinned alive after being pulled from their cramped cages. Workers throw animals to the ground and bludgeon them with metal rods or slam them against any hard surface available. This mangles their bones and sends these defenseless creatures into convulsions, but rarely causes immediate death. Often the dogs and cats are still alive and struggling desperately when workers flip them onto their backs or hang them up by their legs or tails to skin them. The animals, still alive, kick and writhe as their skin and fur is being cut off their bodies. Workers stomp on the necks and heads of struggling animals to allow a clean cut. When the fur is finally peeled off over the animals' heads, their naked, bloody bodies are thrown onto a growing pile. Some animals are still breathing in ragged gasps and blinking slowly. Some of the animals' hearts are still beating five to 10 minutes after they are skinned. They are literally skinned alive!

We have to make a stand against the fur industry, and the people who support it. The animals who die to make fur clothing are treated disgustingly, often being skinned alive. Vanity is the only justification, and it's not a very convincing one! Don't be afraid to speak out!

Sometimes, clothes labeled as fake fur are actually made from real fur (mostly from cats, dogs, or rabbits). To check if it's real or fake, try to stick a needle through the item. If it goes through easily, it's probably fake. If it's hard to push the needle through, then it's likely to be real fur (it's hard to push a needle through skin/leather).

Be alert! More and more real fur is 'hidden' in mainstream clothes. From collars, hoods, and linings, fur is often used even when the label claims it's fake. Test Before You Buy.
Speak up! Notify us if you see a retail store selling real fur. Also speak to the store manager ask them to stock only faux-furs and other cruelty-free fashion. Follow up by sending a letter to their head-office about your concerns.
