It's Time to Shut Down the Chinese Fur Industry

Your tax-deductible gift today can help our efforts to shut down the bloody fur industry for good.

Right now, in cramped, filthy cages on fur farms throughout China, millions of vulnerable animals await a painful death. It may come from strangulation by a wire noose or a knife slash across the throat.

We need your help to stop the carnage taking place on fur farms around the world, including the slaughter of nearly 2 million cats and hundreds of thousands of dogs each year in China. Donate Now The skin is then ripped off their broken and abused bodies and will be turned into fur-trimmed hats, jackets, gloves, and other items—items that you will find on the shelves of department stores this fall.

For the Chinese fur industry—one of the world's largest suppliers of animal fur—this isn't just about fur coats. The result of the suffering of animals in China may be creeping into consumers' daily lives right now, often without their even knowing it. You can help us protect animals killed for their skin and stop the fur industry in its tracks by making a special gift today to support PETA's unique and vital work to end animal abuse.

The ways that the suffering caused by the fur industry appear in the lives of otherwise compassionate consumers is insidious. It may come in the form of a toy purchased for a cat at a pet-supply store—a toy that could be made from the skin of another cat who was stolen, loaded in a crate onto a truck with thousands of other cats, forced to endure days of suffering while being transported to a slaughterhouse in northern China, and then cruelly beaten and skinned. But the label won't tell you that.

Or those little fur tassels on a pair of gloves. Those might be the fur of a German shepherd or a chow chow, who was once loved and cherished—and then was one day kidnapped and sold at the local animal market. After days without water or food and after being beaten repeatedly, the dog was painfully killed and stripped of skin. Did the label mention that?

The fur industry is so desperate to push its cruel wares that it has even stooped to lying to unsuspecting consumers, intentionally mislabeling fur garments as fake—or as coming from rabbits or other animals when they're actually from cats and dogs. The fact is that it takes expensive DNA tests to prove what kind of animal was killed to make each piece of fur trim, coat collar, glove lining, cat toy, or furry trinket. So as you can imagine, these tests are rarely, if ever, done.

PETA is leading the fight against the fur trade—both in China and worldwide—and we're making significant progress. Through our thought-provoking campaigns and groundbreaking undercover investigations, we're getting major designers and retailers like Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Liz Claiborne Inc., Polo Ralph Lauren, and Tommy Hilfiger to swear off using fur in their collections. But none of what we do is possible without your support.

That's why I hope you will make a generous donation today to help us call attention to the horrors that animals killed for their skins endure and work to shut down this violent and bloody trade for good.

Together, we can help the dogs, cats, rabbits, and countless other individual animals who are suffering on fur farms in China and around the world.

Even as more and more consumers reject fur, a desperate fur industry is trying come back by pushing its bloody trade through cat toys, fur trim, and other products created from the same kind of suffering that goes into every fur coat. Won't you help us stand up to this challenge and fight for all animals killed for their skin by making a tax-deductible donation right now?

July 28, 2010

Every year, millions of individual animals, including more than 2 million cats and hundreds of thousands of dogs, are killed for their fur in China. Some are strays, and countless others are companions who once shared homes with people who loved and cared for them before the animals were rounded up and tossed, screaming, into a crate.

China is one of the world's largest fur suppliers, and much of that fur ends up on store shelves in North America. And as we now know, Chinese companies have been known to deliberately mislabel cat and dog fur as "Asian jackal," "rabbit," or "raccoon" in order to fool consumers. Every fur-trimmed collar or other fur item from China, regardless of what kind of animal is slaughtered to manufacture it, is the product of cruelty on a truly massive scale. And we must fight to end this abuse!

Please make an urgently needed donation to PETA today to support our vital efforts to stop the horrific slaughter of cats, dogs, and other animals like those in China.

Through exposing the findings of difficult investigations like the one I told you of last week and through decades of relentless campaigning, PETA has saved many thousands of rabbits, dogs, cats, and other animals by convincing consumers and corporations to reject all fur. We've successfully persuaded some of the world's leading designers and retailers—including Ann Taylor, Calvin Klein, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Tommy Hilfiger—to adopt permanent no-fur policies, and we've done such a good job of making fur synonymous with suffering that fur prices have seen record lows.

While we've accomplished much, the wholesale slaughter of so many animals for their fur in China is not going away. To help these animals, we must educate consumers, corporations, and even governments about the pain that goes into every piece of fur trim and every fur cat toy produced in China. That is only part of our work, but it is a vital part.

Please contribute to our work for dogs, cats, and all other animals by making a special gift today.

On behalf of all animals, especially those confined and killed for their skins in all parts of the world, thank you.

Very truly yours,

Ingrid E. Newkirk
President

P.S. With the fall fashion season just around the corner, we need to do everything that we can to make sure that designers, retailers, and consumers know the horrific extent of the animal suffering that takes place on fur farms in China and around the world. Please make a special online donation right now.

As I write this, hundreds of thousands of individual rabbits, dogs, cats and other animals are confined to cramped cages in China awaiting a violent death at the hands of the bloody fur trade.
With your help and through your generous donation in support of our work, we can make changes for countless animals. Winter is fast approaching, so now is the time to take a stand against the cruel fur industry.

In undercover footage of the Chinese fur trade, PETA Asia has revealed the kind of misery that goes into every fur coat or piece of fur trim. An investigator witnessed terrified animals who were hung upside down by one leg and repeatedly struck in the head with a metal pipe. One young rabbit was still conscious as his skin was violently ripped from his body. Bloody and in agony, he was cast aside to die from his wounds as another animal was pulled from a cage to be slaughtered.
China has no laws that prevent animals from being treated cruelly by the fur industry, meaning that everything documented by the undercover investigator – including things that were done to cats and dogs that would have likely landed the perpetrators in prison had they occurred in the UK – are not punished at all there.
As horrific as the situation is, there are a few signs of hope for these animals. Thanks in part to the work of PETA Asia, China is now considering a bill that, if passed, will become the country's first animal protection law. But it will take more than a new law to stop the suffering of animals on Chinese fur farms. It will take a monumental effort to continue educating consumers, designers and retailers about the violent skin trade and to end the abuse of animals who are killed for their skins.
By supporting PETA today, you'll be standing up to a bloody industry and helping PETA's crucial work to put an end to animal suffering.
Thank you for supporting this vital campaign and for all that you do to make the world a more compassionate place for all animals.
Very truly yours,

Ingrid E Newkirk
Founder

These words describe the millions of individual animals who are tormented and killed for their fur each year. These are rabbits, foxes, raccoon dogs, minks – and even dogs and cats just like those we share our homes with – who are trapped on fur farms around the world.

Fashion is no excuse for killing an animal. But each year, millions of individual animals are slaughtered for their skins.

Please make the most generous gift that you can afford to PETA today. Your donation can help end animal abuse wherever in the world it may occur.

Announcing Fur Free Friday 2009

Are You Getting Ready For Fur Free Friday?
Activists worldwide will speak up for fur-bearing animals on November 27. Please join us.
Fur Free Friday is the most widely-attended annual demonstration in the history of the animal protection movement. Fur Free Friday always occurs simultaneously outside fur-selling retailers in high-visibility locations worldwide, on the day after Thanksgiving, one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Don't miss this opportunity to join with thousands of other activists in this international day of action.
Mark your calendars, contact IDA, and plan now! November 27 is almost here, and we will raise our voices in unison to educate shoppers and the media about the real cost of fur - the cold, brutal fact that more than 50 MILLION fur-bearing animals are slaughtered for fashion each year. Whether on fur farms, where they go crazy from the cramped, filthy conditions, or in the wild where they are trapped and left to suffer, these animals need your help now.

Please take a few minutes right now to visit our web site, www.FurKills.com, to see if there is a Fur Free Friday event already planned in your area. You can also register an event that you are organizing. Some events are already posted, but this list will continue to grow so check back often if your community is not yet represented.
It is critical that events get posted so other activists in your area can join you, so please, if you are organizing a Fur Free Friday event that is not yet listed here, take the time to use our automated web form and post the event. It's a quick and easy way to make your event even more successful.
If there's not an event in your community, we can help you organize one!
Please e-mail our grassroots anti-fur coordinator Melissa Gonzalez to find out how you can get signs, literature and ideas for outreach in your community. Every single voice counts.
This year's Fur Free Friday Focus - Nordstrom: Go faux!
IDA is using Fur Free Friday to re-launch our education and outreach campaign concerning one major retailer, Nordstrom. Please help convince Nordstrom to make the right choice and go completely faux. Already Nordstrom customers enjoy a large selection of faux fur, and Nordstrom is perfectly positioned to make an ethical choice and become the first upscale department store to stop selling all fur, leading the way for competition like Saks, Macy’s, and Neiman Marcus to follow suit.
Fur-bearing animals need YOU!
IDA needs animal advocates across the country to help with our Nordstrom outreach. If you have a Nordstrom in your area and a few extra hours to dedicate to the animals, please contact IDA's Fur Campaign Coordinator, Matt Rossell. From Fur Free Friday until Valentine's Day, we are encouraging weekly leafleting events at a Nordstrom near you. It's easy and rewarding! We'll send you our Nordstrom cards to hand out to shoppers. The card has a message about fur and encourages shoppers to politely ask Nordstrom to go fur free.
Nordstrom needs to hear from their compassionate customer base, and you can help make it happen. Click here for a list of Nordstrom locations. And scroll down for contact information for Nordstrom headquarters and their president, Blake Nordstrom.
Blake Nordstrom clearly has a heart. His family loves animals, and they refuse to wear fur. Blake even sat his entire family down to watch undercover footage shot by IDA’s Matt Rossell inside an Illinois fur farm, and was appropriately disgusted.
Working four months undercover on that fur farm left Matt more than disgusted. He now spearheads our anti-fur campaign. Matt shared some of his experiences:
“My heart was breaking every day, and I was so depressed, and even more furious that these poor creatures had to endure the stench, the boredom, and the depravity of this living hell hole, for something as frivolous as a fur coat."
"The only thing worse than death for one of these fur-bearers is their life. Confined inside tiny cages and exposed to harsh weather extremes, they run back and forth across the wire desperate to escape, going mad, sometimes even cannibalizing one another. I personally witnessed … a fur farmer who denied water to foxes dying of dehydration. His rationale: “that’s one less fox I have to kill”. And in the end, death came by anal electrocution, a crude and horribly cruel process."
"I made a silent promise to each fox that I wouldn’t let their death be in vain. I would do everything in my power to help end forever this needless suffering.”
Help IDA end this horrible suffering.

You can download these and print your own, or e-mail IDA's Literature Department and we'll send you some. A limited number of banners are also available.
And even if you can’t participate in an outreach event, contact Nordstrom Corporate Offices with a polite message, “Fur just doesn’t belong here. Please stop selling fur.”

Signs and literature will be provided, just bring your family and friends. Dress for the weather and come rain or shine to speak up for the animals. There will be vegan cake to share after this uplifting event, don't miss it!

A Shocking Look Inside Swedish Fur Farms
In a year and a half, investigators from the Animal Rights Alliance toured 20 per cent of fur farms in Sweden. Shocking photos and video footage taken during the investigations document the routine cruelty suffered by minks on Swedish fur farms.

Minks are semi-aquatic, solitary animals who may occupy up to 2,500 acres of wetland habitat in the wild. On fur farms, minks are crammed into filthy, wire cages and are never allowed to feel the earth beneath their feet or dive into a cool stream. They often suffer from open wounds and infections, receiving no veterinary care. Crowding and confinement on fur farms also causes minks severe psychological distress, and they often can be seen bobbing their heads and pacing. Investigation photos reveal that many minks even resort to self-mutilation and cannibalism.

Every year, the fur industry heartlessly kills approximately 50 million animals, many of whom are skinned alive. But you can help fight this cruelty by signing the pledge to go fur-free!

Pledge to Be Fur-Free
I, the undersigned, hereby pledge to go fur-free. I say ''No!'' to the cruel and barbaric slaughter of millions of animals around the world for their skin. I say ''No!'' to fur coats, fur collars, fur trim, fur trinkets, fur cat toys and other products made from the fur of animals as well as to any attempt to sneak fur into everyday items. I pledge to expose the truth about fur and spread the word until we close down the international fur trade forever. All mandatory fields are marked with an *

Stand Up to This Bloody Industry

I wrote to you recently about the horrors of the Chinese cat and dog fur trade. As we challenge that atrocity, another is in our sights. I have to steel myself to describe to you the atrocities visited upon rabbits – who are also being sorely abused and slaughtered for their skins in China.
PETA Asia's undercover investigation has resulted in powerful video footagethat allows us to show the world the misery of rabbits who are condemned to a short, miserable life and a painful death at the hands of grubby fur-farm operators. The investigator saw rabbits who were crammed into filthy cages – covered with urine and faeces – in which the animals could only wait, petrified, as workers made their way along the tiers of cages to kill them.

The rabbits were yanked out of their cages by their ears or legs. The workers aimed at the animals' heads with hand-held electrical devices – often multiple times – as the animals kicked and screamed. The rabbits were then hung upside down and crudely decapitated. The farm the investigator visited has 11,000 cages and will be responsible for the slaughter of more than 600,000 animals this year alone in the quest to satisfy the demand for skins.
Because of your unfailing support, PETA are often the only hope for animals who are abused in so many different ways all around the world. May I ask you to support PETA again today by making a donation to help us continue our vigorous, lifesaving work?
Battles have already been won with the help of compassionate people like you. Polo Ralph Lauren, one of the largest fashion retailers in the world, went fur-free after meeting with PETA US and seeing investigative footage of Chinese fur farms. Leading designers, including Vivienne Westwood, Donna Karan and Calvin Klein, have also done the right thing by removing fur from their collections after meeting with PETA and our affiliates. Our campaign has also gained the support of some of the largest high street retailers in the country, including Topshop and Mango.
Please contribute to our work for rabbits, dogs, cats and all animals by making a special gift.
On behalf of the animals we assist, thank you.

It's Time to Destroy the Chinese Fur Industry

Right now, millions of vulnerable animals await a painful death in cramped, filthy cages on fur farms throughout China. Workers might choose to kill the animals by strangling them with wire nooses, cutting their throats or even crushing the animals' skulls by stamping on them with their heavy boots.
The animals' skin is then ripped from their broken and abused bodies in order to be turned into fur-trimmed hats, jackets, gloves and other items that you will find in department stores in the UK this autumn.

For the Chinese fur industry (one of the world's largest suppliers of animal fur), this isn't just about fur coats. Inexpensive fur products such as trinkets, glove linings, fur trim – even cat toys made of fur – have been creeping into shops here too. You can help us protect animals and support PETA's unique and vital work to end animal abuse by making a special gift today.
Often, otherwise compassionate consumers unwittingly lend support to the suffering of animals on fur farms. That support might come in the form of a toy purchased for a cat at a pet shop – a toy made from the skin of another cat who was stolen, stuffed into a crate, loaded onto a truck with thousands of other cats, forced to endure days of suffering during transport to a slaughterhouse in northern China and finally beaten and skinned. But the label won't tell you that.
Or consider those little fur tassels on a pair of gloves. Those might be made from the fur of a German shepherd or a chow chow, who was once loved and cherished – and then was one day kidnapped and sold at the local animal market. After repeated beatings and days without water or food, the dog was painfully killed and skinned. Did the label mention that?
The fur industry is so desperate to push its cruel wares that it has even stooped to lying to unsuspecting consumers, intentionally mislabelling fur garments as fake – or as coming from rabbits or other animals when they actually came from cats and dogs. The fact is that it takes expensive DNA tests to prove what kind of animal was killed to make each piece of fur trim, coat collar, glove lining, cat toy or furry trinket. So as you can imagine, these tests are rarely done – if ever.
PETA and our affiliates are leading the fight against the fur trade – both in China and worldwide – and we're making significant progress. Following on from PETA affiliates' thought-provoking campaigns and groundbreaking undercover investigations, major designers and retailers such as Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Liz Claiborne Inc, Polo Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger are swearing off the use of fur in their collections, and PETA UK is working hard to convince designers, retailers and consumers to turn away from fur. But none of what we do is possible without your support.
That's why I hope you will make a generous donation today to support our ongoing work to save animals.
Together, we can help the dogs, cats, rabbits and countless other individual animals who are suffering around the world.
Very truly yours,

Dangerous fashion: Furs are poisonous

Fur is not only animal cruelty but can also be dangerous for humans: A study commissioned by FOUR PAWS reveals that fur fashion is contaminated with poisonous chemicals.

The cruel keeping conditions for fur-bearing animals are ignored by the fur industry, or described as appropriate. Fur from animals is often advertised as a particularly “ecological and valuable product”. FOUR PAWS has investigated a range of fur products and determined that these claims are not truthful.

FOUR PAWS and EcoAid had a number of different fur products such as collars and scarves checked for poisonous traces by an independent specialist laboratory. The detailed “Poison Report” shows the alarming results: a majority of the mink, fox and raccoon dog furs are contaminated with dangerous chemicals such as formaldehyde, NPE, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) or chlorinated paraffins. Legal restrictions and industrial standards are frequently exceeded. Children’s clothing turned out to be particularly poisonous.

FOUR PAWS has brought charges at the Federal Ministry for Consumer Protection and demands that the EU Commission for Health and Consumer Policy issue a product warning.

Your FOUR PAWS team

Read the poison report and more on fur.

Good news from Brussels: dogs and cats under protection of the EU!

FOUR PAWS welcomes strongly the result of the Belgian initiative, to implement dogs and cats into the Animal Welfare Programme of the EU.
Now, after the meeting of the EU Council of Ministers it is fixed: the protection of companion animals will be integrated in the new Community Animal Welfare Action Plan (2011-2016), an EU wide registration will be developed and rules for breed and trade of dogs and cats.

Candy Canes Can Help Animals

Staying warm during this time of year isn't just important for us—it's also necessary for our animal friends who actually live outside. However, every year, millions of foxes, rabbits, and other furry friends are trappedor kept in tiny wire cages and then skinned alive for their fur. Cows and sheep also suffer horribly, simply to keep people warm—despite the fact that there are tons of cruelty-free options available. With the holiday season upon us, we need your help to make sure that people remember this when buying their gifts!

"But how can I remind people that we have tons of options and ways to stay comfortable when it's cold out but that animals only have the skin and fur on their backs?" Since I spend my time away from the office as a psychic, I know this was the first question to pop into your head. (Joking!) You're in luck! We have our easy-to-print and fun-to-give-away "Be Sweet to Animals" holiday tags to help you give everyone a little reminder. Here's all that you have to do:
Download a sheet of the tags here.
Print out a few sheets there (pretend that I just pointed at your printer) and cut them out.
Attach them to yummy candy canes using rubber bands, ribbons, or peta2 stickers.
Start spreading the love (and the word about cruelty to animals) to all your friends and family.
If you have any questions, feel free to message us at peta2@peta2.com.
In the spirit of the holiday season, we'll also give you something in return—Street Team points* (I heard a celebratory trumpet playing as I typed that). We'll give you 1,500 points for giving out the tags and an additional 750 points for sending us pics. Just send your report to us at StreetTeam@peta2.com.
Thanks for being awesome!

Tell Your Friends to Be Sweet to Animals

Each year, millions of animals are tortured and eventually killed just so that people can wear fur, leather, and wool garments. The holidays are a time to get together and exchange gifts, but the dead skin of abused animals doesn't belong under the Christmas tree, now does it? This year, we want you to help convince your friends and family to be kind by not buying clothes made out of animals' skin.

Minks, rabbits, foxes, and other animals on fur farms are crammed into filthy wire cages where they are deprived of everything that is natural and important to them. Some are still conscious when they are bashed over the head and skinned alive. Cows are hacked into pieces and their skin is ripped off so that they can be made into leather coats and shoes. Sheep raised for wool in Australia have huge chunks of skin and flesh cut from their behinds, and many are shipped off to the Middle East, where they are slaughtered in the most horrific ways imaginable. With so many lovely and warm faux fur, leather, and wool clothing options available at almost every major retailer, there's simply no reason not to buy cruelty-free gifts this Christmas.

Here's how you can help us convince your friends and family members—and even a few strangers—to have a cruelty-free holiday:

1.Click here to download a sheet of "Be Sweet to Animals" tags.
2.Print out a few sheets, then cut each tag out separately.
3.Using a rubber band or some tape, attach the tags to candy canes (you can buy a few dozen for cheap at your local drugstore).
4.Give the candy canes to your friends, put one in your mom's stocking, hand them out at school, or go down to the nearest mall and give them to people as they walk in to do their holiday shopping. Be creative!

If you don't celebrate Christmas, be creative—put the tags on gifts you're giving this holiday season.

Once you've handed out your candy canes, rush back home and send a report to StreetTeam@peta2.com to let us know how it went. We'll give you 1,500 Street Team points for handing out the treats with tags on them, and we'll even give you a 750-point bonus if you include a picture with your report. Does it get any sweeter than that? (Get it, "sweeter" … because it's candy?) If you aren't on the Street Team, sign up now and start earning free peta2 merch for helping animals.

Make Plans for Fur-Free Friday Now!

Will you help speak up for animals killed for their fur?

November 26, the day after Thanksgiving in the U.S., is the biggest shopping day of the year. Fur-Free Friday, as it's also known, gives the international animal rights community a chance to remind shoppers to love animals, not wear them.We want to help you become part of the Fur-Free Friday festivities in your community. What better day to inform shoppers about the barbaric fur trade and ask them to leave fur off their shopping lists than when they're out in full force hitting malls and other stores around town?

You can make a difference this Fur-Free Friday by planning your own demonstration! Fill out this form to register your Fur-Free Friday protest today or to request free signs, leaflets, and anti-fur buttons!

This Fur-Free Friday, take a stand against stores that heartlessly continue to sell fur as well as designers who continue to use fur in their collections. Donna Karan, for example, previously promised to stop using fur, but she is now featuring it in her clothing line! Animals who are skinned alive and killed for their fur depend on caring people like you to encourage shoppers to choose compassion over cruelty this holiday season.

Sincerely,

Urge Donna Karan to Dump Fur—Again!

Fashion Week may have just ended in New York City, but PETA's latest campaign is just heating up.

We were disappointed to see several designers, including Donna Karan, using fur in their collections. Just over a year ago, Karan had publically announced that she had "no plans" to use fur in the future.

The state of the fur industry today is just as gruesome as it was when we were last in touch with her. Foxes, minks, coyotes, and rabbits—and even dogs and cats—are bludgeoned, genitally electrocuted, and often skinned alive for their pelts on fur farms around the world.

Click hereto speak out against the killing of animals for their skins. Write to Donna Karan executives and urge them to dump fur—for good this time.

It's easy to get a killer look without killing anyone. Because of the cruelty in the fur industry, designers such as Stella McCartney, Marc Bouwer, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and Liz Claiborne have all chosen to create wonderful work without using animal fur.

Please join us in boycottingDonna Karan's collections as long as she continues to support this cruel trade, and spread this message to everyone you know. With the help of compassionate people like you, we can put an end to the suffering felt by animals on fur farms.

Help Stop the Bunny Butcher!

With so many cruelty-free and stylish alternatives, it's hard to imagine why any designer would choose to use the skins of dead animals in his or her designs. But sadly, some designers just haven't caught up with the times. Such is the case for Donna Karan, who has made the cruel choice to use rabbit fur in her winter collections.

You can help. Click hereto contact Donna Karan executives now and urge them to permanently remove fur from all designs in the Donna Karan New York and DKNY collections.

After all, there is nothing fashionable or elegant about how animals are killed in the fur industry. Because no matter who it was stolen from, fur always looks best on its original owner.

Please take actionand boycott Donna Karan, the Bunny Butcher, until she permanently removes all fur from her collections.

We do not sell or share the email addresses you provide.17 comments The clothing retail chain Papaya has decided to stop selling clothing containing animal fur. It appears pressure from PETA in the form of videos sent to the company showing the horrific violence perpetrated against animals used for fur, caused the company to reverse their practice of selling animal fur. They also reportedly have implemented a fur-free policy for their 90 stores.

Twenty-two of their stores are in California, with most of those in the Los Angeles and San Diego metro areas, but some are also in the Bay Area. (They sell moderately priced clothing.) PETA senior vice president Dan Mathews said, “Papaya saves its customers from becoming fashion victims, and now the company’s anti-fur policy extends the same courtesy to animals.” (Source: PETA.org) Papaya will sell the few remaining items in its inventory that contain fur, but will not order new ones.

One of the PETA videos that contributed to the change is called Fashion Victims. (Warning: It might not be something you want to view unless you are emotionally ready for it.) Some other clothing companies with fur-free policies are Ann Bower, Calvin Klein, REI, Ralph Lauren, J. Crew and Ann Taylor. For more compassionate clothing retailers, view the Humane Society’s list of fur-free retailers.

Critics of PETA say their tactics are too obnoxious or aggressive, but in this case neither is true, and the results are undeniably positive.
