Right now, mother harp seals are experiencing one of life's great wonders.

They are giving birth to wide-eyed seal pups on the ice floes off the East Coast of Canada. Just like our moms, these new mothers feel joy as well as a deep sense of responsibility toward their newborn pups.

Words fail to describe the immense horror that will follow just a few days from now.

Canadian sealers wielding clubs and guns will beat and shoot thousands of these baby seals. Seals will wail in terror as they watch their loved ones have their skin ripped from their bodies, sometimes while they are still alive.

We can't let this happen again. Please donate to PETA now and help us end the bloody seal slaughter.

Some people joke about clubbing baby seals. But it's no laughing matter. It happens every day in Namibia. Help put a stop to the horrific slaughter of baby seals today.

As I write this, seal pups are being rounded up, separated from their mothers, and brutally beaten to death. There are an estimated one million Cape Fur Seals left in the wild. In the space of five months, eighty five thousand of these seals will be slaughtered in Namibia, the only country in the world that allows the killing of nursing pups.

If we don't act now to stop this slaughter, Cape Fur Seals will be extinct by 2019.

Every morning from 6am to 9am, death squads swarm the beach murdering seals in cold blood. Journalists are barred from the scene. By 9am, the death squads clean up the carnage for when tourists arrive, ignorant of the slaughter that happened just hours before. Speak out to make sure these crimes are no longer ignored.

We can't stand by as thousands of baby seals are bludgeoned to death every day. We cannot let this mass extermination continue. Tell Namibia to end this horrific, cruel massacre of innocent seals.

In Namibia one of the cruelest and largest acts of violence against any animal is taking place. Right now terrified seal pups are being rounded up, separated from their mothers, and brutally beaten to death.
From the beginning of July all the way through to November up to 85 000 seals will be slaughtered in Namibia annual seal cull.
And as the only country in the world to allow the killing of nursing pups, the Namibian slaughter is regarded as the world’s cruelest.
It is estimated that there are about 1 million Cape Fur Seals left in the wild. If the cull continues in its current form, unsustainable and without merit, the species will be all but extinct by 2019.
What would be laughable if it was not so cruel is that Cape Cross, one of the locations of this so called “Harvest” is a seal reserve which was established to protect them. But for five long months the resort becomes a killing field. It is closed off, no journalists are allowed in.
From 6am to 9am the clubbing goes on unabated. Only stopping to clean up before the tourists arrive.

Seeing as people clearly aren't reading what I put in the comment section, here it is. Right up front.

I would just like to say, for those of you wanting to comment on this post, can we please refrain from the hate! As I already mentioned on this petition, I have been victim to much hate these past few weeks simply for residing in Canada. Regardless of what our country does, we are people all the same, we have feelings and those kind of comments do hurt and anger some people. I do not take kindly to having this kind of hate plastered across my cause. This is not what the cause is about, we are here for the animals and the animals only, that's what we all share in common regardless of our nationality. It is hurtful, offensive and by all means bullying. As compassionate and decent human beings we should respect each other.
