Patagonia: Feathers from cruel Live Plucking
The outdoor company Patagonia uses feathers from live plucked geese in its products. An undercover investigation revealed that the feathers come from Hungary, where mass live feather- plucking takes place at many farms during the moult.
The animals suffer terribly. When injured, they may be forced to have their wounds stitched up without any anaesthetic. Many birds become panicked, suffer from broken wings and injuries, often birds will crash against the walls whilst they attempt to hide, and dying animals are common occurrences during live plucking which is often referred to as “harvesting” to conceal the cruelty behind the practice.
Join our online petition against this animal cruelty. Let Patagonia know that you are appalled by the use of live-plucked down and that you do not accept products with down of any kind. Call for a total ban of the sale of products with live plucked down. Patagonia and its retailers should not sell products containing goose down and should use animal-friendly alternatives instead.
Please avoid buying any products at companies that have no regard for animal welfare and support this cruelty
